The Cab4Me application that made it to the top 10 in the Android Developer Challenge competition (& winning a very nice sum
of $275,000) looks like a very nice application to own.
It is said the application is only available on phones that run Google's forthcoming Android mobile operating system, but
whether it will be made accessible to other GPS enabled phones it is not yet known.
Brief App Description
Using Google Maps and Android's GPS or cell-based location awareness technology, Cab4me enables users to call a cab to
any location without knowing the cab phone number or exact address. Users can select their cab destination by scrolling
the map, and Cab4me offers overlays showing locations where cabs typically wait. Geocoding extensions help find and
display addresses. Developers: Konrad Huebner, Henning Boeger.

Android Developer Challenge Overview
After Round 1, 50 teams of developers each received a $25,000 award and the opportunity to compete in the second and
final round of ADC I, for ten $275,000 prizes and ten $100,000 prizes. All judging is now complete.
